A little history…

It seemed like a good idea to reintroduce myself and the blog, just so new visitors know what I’m up to here!

The blog is a new start to a blog I began several years ago as I was just beginning my cooking career. This began as a very green, wide-eyed journey into what I wasn’t sure would ever be a life I could sustain and thrive within.

Little did I know that I would be able to travel the world, working in kitchens in Minnesota, London, and California. I would get to spend years cooking in a Michelin-starred kitchen in San Francisco, a gorgeous place in London, multiple restaurants both established and brand new in the Napa Valley as a line cook and also as a sous chef, that I would even get to open and fully run a new kitchen here, and that along the way I’d have opportunities to work in catering companies both large and small. The Chefs that I’ve had the opportunity to work for have been incredible, and the food I’ve gotten to make has been exquisite.

It’s been 7 years, and I’ve decided to become “Tasting Everything.” My reason for that is simple; in order to become confident, in order to become successful, I believe that you truly have to taste everything. Not just mushy peas in London. Not just fresh baby radishes picked from your garden in Napa. Not only a crisp Honeycrisp right off a tree in an orchard in Minnesota while an even crisper autumn wind blows the coming winter into the pores of your skin. Taste more. Taste happiness. Taste loneliness. Taste fear. Taste satisfaction. Taste exhaustion. Taste success. Taste everything! Learn to enjoy the flavors of life.

This blog is here to help people learn how to use some basic restaurant techniques to create healthy and beautiful food at home. Clean eating with seasonal whole foods is something that everyone can learn and use every day to make life better, tastier, healthier, and even more beautiful.
